£15,000 - £18,000
James Bond - Dr No original UK Quad Poster, from 1962.
One of the rarest & iconic of all British movie posters. Recognised as the first poster from the initial mainstream Bond movie 'Dr. No'. Released in 1962, starring the marvellous Sean Connery as 007.
This is an original first year of release poster by the artist, Mitchell Hooks & printed by Stafford & Co, Ltd. Netherfield, Nottingham and London features Connery as Bond with his infamous Walter PPK handgun, four 'Bond girls' headed by the bikini-clad Ursula Andress, along with a partial frame of the sinister 'Dr. No'.
The poster has shallow fold marks & has been kept by the vendor in 'a safe place' since boyhood. As such the colours appear as vibrant as it would have back in 1962 - thus adding to its rarity.
The poster is now presented in a perspex covered snap-frame, but will benefit from professional framing to display to its best effect. There are a couple of minute tears to the very outer border (as pictured). No restoration has been undertaken.
Unframed dimensions: 40"x30" (101cmx76 cm)
